NHL team, Tampa Bay Lightning was defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes 6-0 following Victor Hedman injury after getting hit by Andrei Svechnikov.

Victor Erik Olof Hedman is his full name, and was born on 18 December 1990 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.

He is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL).

In the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Lightning selected him second overall.

Hedman is widely regarded as one of the top defensemen in the NHL, and he is also a five-time James Norris Memorial Trophy finalist who won the award in 2018.

The Lightning star Hedman helped the Lightning win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Conn Smythe Award as the most valuable player in the 2020 playoffs.

Victor Hedman began his hockey career in the Swedish Hockey League with his hometown team, Modo Hockey (SHL).

Tampa Bay Lightning Victor Hedman Injury Update

As mentioned above, he got injured after getting hit by Svechnikov. The All-Star, the future hall-fame defenseman, was lying on the ice grabbing his back.

Hedman did return for an 11-second shift after spending 10 minutes in the locker room.

After a delay in play, he could be seen shaking his head at the bench before returning to the locker room for the rest of the night.

It seems that Victor Headman has avoided any serious injuries.

On Tuesday, Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper revealed that the stalwart is considered day-to-day after leaving Sunday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

While Hedman will not play against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, Cooper revealed the Bolts will welcome back Cernak, who has been out with a lower-body injury for the past two games.

Hedman is out for the day with an unexplained injury and will not play on Tuesday.

Hedman departed the Lightning’s previous game against Carolina after only 7:17 TOI due to an unexplained injury and will miss Tuesday’s game.

The Lightning has suffered a significant blow, as the 32-year-old had six goals, 42 points, 144 SOG, 26 PIMs, and a +10 plus/minus in 60 games previous to the injury.

Hedman has missed a total of the last two games with that undisclosed injury, but he was back on the ice for the Lightning’s morning skate and will be back for the game.

Victor Hedman Health Update 2023

Victor Hedman’s health is good as of 2023, and the fans have nothing to be worried about.

He will soon be back on the ice to play for his team Tampa Bay Lightning.

However, Victor Hedman has had a few injuries throughout his career, but he has generally been durable and has not stayed on the bench for long.

Hedman lost time during the 2017-18 season due to a lower-body injury and a shattered finger.

Despite his injuries, he played through them and had a fantastic season, earning the Norris Award as the NHL’s best defenseman.
