American professional basketball player and coach Bill Laimbeer is now retired. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 19, 1957.

Laimbeer was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third round of the 1979 NBA Draft while playing college basketball for the University of Notre Dame from 1975 to 1979.

Laimbeer is most remembered for his time as center and power forward for the Detroit Pistons from 1982 to 1994. He played a significant role on the “Bad Boys” Pistons teams that captured back-to-back NBA titles in 1989 and 1990.

Regarding Bill’s parents’ occupations, his Father, William Laimbeer Sr., was an Executive at Owens-Illinois who eventually became the Company’s president. Unfortunately, he passed away while asleep in the year 2018.

In addition to his parents, Bill has a sister by the name of Susan Laimbeer. His parents have helped him grow into the person he is today.

Palos Verdes High School in California is where Laimbeer received his high school diploma. The basketball player enrolled in Notre Dame College after earning his high school diploma.

He briefly attended the University but then left and enrolled at Toledo, Ohio’s Owens Technical College.

The basketball player spent two semesters at Owens Technical College before returning to Notre Dame College to finish his degree there.
