Cricketer Shardul Narendra Thakur represents India internationally. He is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-pace bowler.

Thakur was initially criticized for being undersized for a fast bowler (5 feet 9 inches) and being overweight for a while (83 kg), but he eventually joined Mumbai’s local team.

He played for Mumbai against Rajasthan in the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy at Jaipur in November, marking his first-class debut for Mumbai. With four wickets at an 82.0 bowling average in his first four games, he had a poor start to his career.

He helped Mumbai win their 41st Ranji Trophy championship in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy final against Saurashtra by taking eight wickets.

He formerly played for the Kings XI in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but currently plays for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shardul hails from a family that is middle class. He has faced numerous challenges, but by persevering and working hard, he has overcome them all.

Father Narendra Thakur and mother Hansa Thakur welcomed Shardul into the world on October 16, 1991, in Palghar, Maharashtra. His mother is a housewife, while his dad sells coconuts.

At a young age, he had a passion for the game of cricket, and to practice, he would travel from his Palghar home, around 90 kilometers away. In the eyes of his pals, he is also known as Palghar.

He scored six goals during a game against his Swami Vivekananda school squad in the Harris Shield School competition. Dinesh Lad was the mentor who helped Shardul thrive and develop his talent.

In November 2021, Mittali Parulkar and Shardul Thakur became engaged. They later wed in February 2023. Together, they look amazing.

Thakur recorded six wickets against New Zealand in the ODI series in January 2023. He also won Player of the Match honors in the third ODI after taking three wickets and scoring 25 runs with the bat.

Thakur was acquired by Kings XI Punjab in the 2014 IPL player auction in preparation for the 2015 IPL season. He took one wicket in four overs in his IPL debut against the Delhi Daredevils.

The Rising Pune Supergiants purchased him in March 2017 for the IPL’s tenth season and the Chennai Super Kings in January 2018 for the following one.

At the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by Delhi Capitals in February 2022. In November 2022, following his participation in 14 games that season, the Kolkata Knight Riders exchanged him for Aman Khan to prepare for the IPL 2023 auctions.
