Ramsdale was selected for the England U19 team in August 2016, and on September 4, against Belgium U19, he made his competitive debut.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd made Ramsdale’s first call-up to the England U21s for the Toulon Tournament on May 18, 2018. In a 4-0 victory over Qatar on June 1, 2018, Ramsdale played 90 minutes, earning his first cap for the England U21 squad.

Ramsdale was the preferred starter in goal for England’s three games as they were eliminated from the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship group stage.
